Inspired by folklore, 90's cartoons, decay, travel, femininity and the occult, my work weaves sugar, spice and everything nice, with trash, filth and decay, to create a world that is equally inviting and perturbed. In doing so, these two concepts mirror each other, feed into one another, and finally become one another. A place where the macabre shines through sugarcoated illusions, and what was once discarded is rebirthed into nuanced beauty.

Within this space, ideas of utopias and dystopias are explored. Personal symbology creates a visual language, representing personal experiences, opinions and perspectives. Objects hold meaning, and stories of human history, collective or personal. Discarded, decaying found objects are used to interlay ghosts and stories of the past with future meanings. And similar to a theory in physics, which states the recreation of the big bang would not impede on our existing space but build its own, art making becomes the magical ritual, in the creation of a new culture and world. One that thrives on femininity, community and transforms destruction into creation.
